Looking for a Partiful, Evite or SignUpGenius alternative?
These are good tools, and the right one depends on what you are hosting. Cheers! is built for gatherings that repeat, like a dinner club or a book club, where guests choose the dates and a waitlist fills open seats. Here is how they compare, as of October 2026.
Free during beta · Guests RSVP from a private link, no account needed

A fair look at each one.
Partiful
Partiful is an invitation app for parties. Its help center says it doesn't currently support a recurring events feature, and suggests cloning an event and changing the date (Source). It does let you set a maximum headcount and turn on an automatic waitlist. When a spot opens, the next waitlisted guest is added and notified by text (Source). For a one-time party, that can work well. For a club that meets monthly, each date becomes its own event.
Evite
Evite is an online invitation service. Its help center explains how to cap RSVPs: once the count reaches your number, guests who respond see that the event is full (Source). For a one-time party with a fixed number of chairs, that covers the basics. We only compare what that page covers.
SignUpGenius
SignUpGenius is built as a sign-up sheet rather than a party invitation, and it is a strong choice for volunteer sign-ups, school events and team schedules. It supports recurring days: set the pattern once and it creates every date and slot (Source). Its slot waitlist fills automatically. When someone cancels, the next person moves in and gets an email, and that page says the waitlist comes with its Gold, Platinum and Enterprise plans (Source).
Cheers!
Cheers! is built for recurring gatherings with invitations. You create one series (weekly, every other week, monthly, or a weekday of the month like the first Friday, up to 52 dates), set the seats for each date, and send one link. Guests choose the dates they can make. A full date shows Full - Waitlist, and when someone cancels, the next guest is offered the seat by email (and by text if they opted in) with two hours to claim it before it moves on. Guests need no account. It is free during the beta, then $9.99 a month, $19.99 for a 3-month Season Pass, or $59.99 a year. See recurring events for how it works.
Which one fits your gathering?
A one-time party
Partiful and Evite both let you cap the guest list, so either can work for one night.
Volunteer shifts or a team schedule
SignUpGenius was made for sign-up sheets, and recurring days save setup time.
A dinner club, supper club or book club
Cheers! is built for a group that meets again and again. Start with the dinner club guide or the book club app page.
Questions hosts ask.
Does Partiful support recurring events?
Not currently. Partiful's help center says it doesn't currently support a recurring events feature, and suggests cloning an event and changing the date. This is as of October 2026.
What should I use for a dinner club or book club that meets every month?
Look for recurring dates, a seat limit for each date and a waitlist. Cheers! is built for that: one series, one link, seats for each date and an automatic waitlist. SignUpGenius also supports recurring days if you prefer a sign-up sheet to an invitation.
Can I limit the guest list on Evite?
Yes. Evite's help center describes a maximum capacity setting. Once the RSVP count reaches your number, guests who respond see a message that the event is full.
Is SignUpGenius a good fit for a dinner party?
SignUpGenius is built as a sign-up sheet, and it is a strong choice for volunteers, school events and team schedules. For friends coming to your home, you may prefer a tool shaped like an invitation, such as Cheers!, Partiful or Evite.
